changing engine oil

Hey all excellent forum!

I drive a VY Executive S2 Ecotec 3.8L V6.

I was planning to replace the engine oil and filter this weekend and was wondering how much oil i will need to buy? I've read somewhere it's like 6.1L? Is that correct?

5L bottle should be fine.

Nahh. I'm pretty sure it is 6.1 for the VY Ecotec..

Refer to your owners manual.. It will specify the amount of oil..

I'm 99% sure it's 6.1 litres though..

Ok since found out you were right, (phoned a friend) it should be close to 6.1L, sorry to lead you astray.

Just had a look in the service manual as suggested. Says approx 5.6L with filter change.

I had mine done yesterday, invoice from the mechanic reads 5.5L.... close enough!
