Bell mouth fitted to plenum on intake manifold

Hi does anyone know about taking out a bell mouth from the plenum on V6's to improve performance. I have an article from Street Commodores mag number 113 July 06, which on page 42 shows how to do it. Does anyone know if it really works?

For buick V6's only. It was a plastic reducer, some people have said they got more power from removing it but it's debateable. Do a search on here there have been plenty of threads on it.

i think it just makes it feel a bit better down low, gives you a slightly rougher idle though.
Try it? if you dont like it put it back, i plan on looking into it in a few weeks if i can be bothered
