Exclamation VZ into VY binnacle guages

G'day, I have a VYII Calais & have purchasedd a set of VZ Monaro Binnacle guages! Problem is the binnacle housing is too small for my dash!! Does anyone know how I can get around this?? Was thinking I could get the top of the dash of a VY Manaro from the wreckers?? any help would be appreciated .. Waz

I know that www.nvu.com.au make the VZ gauge pod fit the VY centre console dash thing, so try them

i thought nothing could go in there on the VY's?

Some thng like the key sensor,/ sun sensor or someshite like that...???

He is talking about on the dash above the radio and air con. where there is the centre bit that looks like it should be something, but is not.
The light sensor is where the windscreen meets the dash in the center, its a black strip.

I think your safest and easiest solution would be to sell the VZ binnacle and get a VY model, although I recall that VY's with climate control could not accept a binnacle gauge cluster. Have you lifted the panel to see if you have access to bring the wiring through?

I have heard that it can be retrofitted... You need to snap some of the plugs off the binnacle - but that's all I have heard. If I were in your position, I would sell the binnacle. Also, you can install binnacles within cars with climate control - installation is different in terms of wiring, but still possible none the less (click here for picture).

Very nice pics, as stated I have the monaro VZ guages that match my dash, Have since been told that I can purchase the VZ centre console strips to make fit!! can anyone recommend where I can purchase from or see any any probs with this idea??
