Hi,

I am currently looking for a VY commodore on DUAL FUEL.

I have found one and wanted to know what everyone thinks.

Its an 03 Model Equipe VY with all the power options
DUAL FUEL
120,000km

I am going to need to get it re-registered

Asking price is 14k

Just want to know if this is reasonable and also is it ALOT OF KM?? It is all highway km.

Also anyone can tell me some pros/cons of VY especially running on DUAL FUEL setup??

no real idea bout the dual fuel bit altho its gonna save you a packet on fuel :)
These days 120,000 ks to me is nothing as long as the engine runs smooth and quiet,as for being highway ks you cant believe everything they tell you.
Seems like a decent price for a vy on dual fuel altho a bit cheaper would be good.
My 2c

yeh i think i will get him down to 12k if i get it

as foir the highway k's i think its pretty genuine as he lives out rural area and drives to sydney daily doing about 250km each day.

General rule-of-thumb is 20,000 km per year on average.

Being an '03 model, the average km it should have is 60,000. This is all approximate and people have different opinions, but 120,000 sounds too much to me.

ye thats my thoughts on it also, but i havnt seen literally any commodores with 60,000km on 03 models might be cause i am after a dual fuel model which i guess would have been bought for long distance travelling?? Will see the car this sat if it looks ok will get an inspection and take it from there.

As for the VY model and Duel Fuel is there any particulars i should be looking for?

i do agree davey that 120,00 ks is a tad high but ive driven a 2002 vy with 190,000 ks and it drives like mine with 30,000 ks,just bought my father one with 120,00 ks and same thing if it was not for the colour of the outside of the car i would think it was mine with 30,000 so if you could get that car for 12 or even 11 i think its a good buy :)

My '02 VY Berlina had 138000 K's on the clock, as long as the service match the speedo & drives OK should not be a problem, I paid $16700 for mine. A friend had a VR wagon on dual fuel his had don 505,000 k's before he put a second hand engine in it with 160,000 on it. So Klm's on a commodore are nothing as long as its mechanicaly & body sound.

Mine's an '03 and it has under 60,000 on it - but you can't have that! ;)

I think you're right though, the dual-fuel thing generally means more km.
