Default Do springs wear out?

Looking to buy second hand springs - 120k km. They are quite cheap.
Do they get compressed over time so would new be better (for more money?)

Short answer, yes they do.

They'll lose elasticity (yes, steel has elasticity) over time, and start to sag, and stop rebounding effectively. Thats why there's an aftermarket for the things.

Takes a long time though, and its not generally noticeable over that time, but if you replace old ones, you'll notice a difference for sure.

Personally springs aren't all that expensive, I wouldn't buy ones with 120,000kms on them.

Cheers,
Dan
