Some one help me pleaseeeeeeee!!!!!!
My son spilt a milkshake onto the back seat........on the day it happened a local car cleaning place squeezed me in and shampooed the seat where it happened but he didnt take the seat out and do it properly...the next day which was yesterday(the hot day it was) the car started to smell by the afternoon ..
Does anyone know how to rid the smell and if that cant be done any idea's whether buying a new back seat or something like that would help and what the cost would be for a new back seat..

Once milk gets spilt it's hard to get rid of the smell, a mate of mine had the same problem with a bottle of cream and the smell never really came out.
Was it split on the backrest or on the seat itself?
You can remove the affected area seperatley and take it back to a car detailer to have it done again, removing the back seat is quite easily done.

Did your "local car cleaning place" steam clean it? If so, get a good car detailer to steam clean your seat. That should get rid of the stain and the smell. I assume your seats are cloth (not leather) yeah?

Shelle,
I highly recommend that you buy some Meguiars Cloth and Trim Cleaner......
It is made from a safe and natural orange citrus formula that deodorises as it deep cleans.
I would use this regulary on the affected area as well as continuing with the steam cleaning.....
Whenever my kids spill anything on the seats i always use it.

OK ,i might have a look around the wreckers here in Newy but i think the smell has gone down to the metal under the seat..so i reckon a new seat wouldnt get rid of the smell either..actually someone told me to use vinager but all that has done was make the car smell like smelly feet lol...Kids and cars dont mix,but i learnt me lesson and there is a no more drinks and food in the car anymore.

Hmmm, I've got leather seats - so maybe for the carpet, but not a priority for now...
