eerrrrm. I have a series I Vy also and tried many times to rip the thing to bits and build an interface that would suit the stering controls..........no luck I ended up just buying a decent set of pioneer splits and running them from the factory deck ----sounds ok----I would leave the factory deck inplace but if you realy want some power out of it you will have to put a slave power amp with it. (not the best sound however)

you need to buy a IR receiver for the steerign wheel controls to work with after markeket deck, costs about $200ono for the receiver unit

I'm looking at putting 2x10 JVC subs, a 2 channel amp and a 4 channel amp in the boot and a JVC mp3 compatible deck in. (Or at least that was the plan for the VN I am about to trade)... now I'm having second thoughts about replacing the deck when I get my VY because I understand conecting it to the streering wheel controls in near impossible.

Time will tell. From what I've read on these forums though, the factory audio system rocks... so a couple of subs and amps might be enough to tweak the sound a little.

Life is good.

m8 you would be surprised how much the stock systems kicks..nice bass too..its plenty loud but if you want better quality..i would just change the speakers for a set of splits..but its a personal thing aye

I agree, the speakers aren't too terriffic, but the stock head unit is still very nice. :)

Well I know I am going to add the subs and amp shortly after picking up the vehicle... the head unit is another story though. I actually ordered all this gear before deciding to trade in my VN... at the moment I am leaning towards leaving the new head unit in the box or selling it.

Either way, I am sure the sound in the VY will be infinately better than what I currently have.

Life is good!

Cheers.
