problem with auto lights

Hi hope you are all well out there.
I have a question about auto lights delay times??
I have just bought a vy v6 ute for work and was playing with all the features but when i set the headlights to turn off a few seconds after i lock the car, I have to lock,unlock then lock again before the feature works. This is probably something i have done wrong... but dont know what.
I have even reset the factory default and started again but it still happens. Other than this I can not fault the ute it is a lot more than i thought it would be.

hmmm mine does it every now and then but not every time?
my utes lights are set at a 5 second delay.
does this happen still if you deadlock your car? (pressing lock twice on remote)

yes it still happens if you deadlock the car. I thought it was a setting I had mistakenly activated
