Victoria, then yes. I recently done a bit of research regarding this particular issue myself, and it was with a huge grin that I found out I can!

Here are the rules for Vic drivers-->

A high powered vehicle is any vehicle with a power to weight ratio over 125 kw per tonne, or with an engine capacity to weight ratio over 3.5 litres per tonne. This includes any make of car.

*Capacity to weight ratio is the capacity in litres divided by the weight in tonnes
*Power to weight ratio is the power in kw divided by the weight in tonnes.

SO....
VY S Supercharged is ---> Capacity to wieght ratio of 2.53 (well under the allowed 3.5)

And power to weight is 109 (well under the allowed 125)

Here is a link to the Victorian rules regarding power to wieght ratio's allowable for a P plater.

Here's how it breaks down:--

P-Platers in Victoria cannot legally drive any V8 commodores from 1999 onwards.

All 6 cylinder Commodores (regardless of type) including any S/C versions are still allowed.

I thought there were blanket rules about any car with forced induction.... I'd look at that.

You are right, there are blanket rules pertaining any form of forced induction, but there is nothing about these rules for Victorians. So far they seem to cover NSW residents only, but there are probably more states/territory's affected.

In Victoria, we have what is known as the High Powered Vehicle rule. Any vehicle that puts out more than 125kw per tonne (to the flywheel) or has a literage of more than 3.5 per tonne is a no fly zone.
here is the VY stats
VY S Supercharged is ---> Capacity to wieght ratio of 2.53 (well under the allowed 3.5)
And power to weight is 109 (well under the allowed 125)
