Exclamation Electric windows & central locking no go...

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I ring the Holden people tomorrow. My problem is thus:

One of my remote keys stopped working today, so I had to unlock the doors on my VY II Exec wagon manually, which proceeded to set off the alarm etc. Eventually it reset itself, then I read in the manual I could've saved myself some embarrassment by just putting the key in the ignition.

Anyway, since then, the electric front windows and also the central locking and also the remote on my spare key isn't working. Just wondering if there is something I've somehow done to disable the electronics or something?

Aircon, stereo, trip computer etc all still work fine. Haven't tried adjusting the mirrors.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

- Chris

put your key in the ignition and press unlock and see if it changes things. my service managers car does the same thing sometimes and it fixes it for some unknown reason

Thumbs down

Hi, just tried that then, didn't make a difference. It's as if the electronics to do with the front doors aren't working at all.

I'm just wondering that myself - might check it...looking in the manual there's a fuse for the electric windows, power locking, and theft horn all in the one...

yeh there should be a seperate fuse for the windows and central locking. the anti theft horn is part of the central locking

All fixed - it was a fuse Thanks for the suggestion! There's a few different ones, but this one was the one that was labelled (in the manual) "Power windows, Power locks, theft horn". My guess is that I blew the fuse earlier today when it set off somehow.

might want to find out why it blew tho. fuses should blow unless there is a problem or it is being overloaded
