Hey guys my Traction control Button wasnt working when i took the car for a test drive, its automaticly off, i guess thats better. Does anyone kno what i shud do to fix it?
I'm not sure what would be wrong with it... But its not better that the trac is off... Trust me, it does come in handy on the road. When your OFF PUBLIC ROADSand want to have fun, thats when its better off. It does come in handy though
But wait... There's more!!
But that's not all!!!

Yea supose does any1 have an idea how to fix it?
it will shut down if theres a problem with a sensor.
get it checked
I wish mine would stay off lol![]()
my vy ss s1 doesn't have a traction control switch on it, its permanatly on, is there a way to take it off, like a fuse i can pull out for when i want to have sum fun? its an auto and ex cop car, have also been told these didn't get a traction control switch, only the manuals did.
ive driven lots of later model commodores with taction control and its very good when you want it but in the wet its the worst thing to have on... if you start to slide and try to power out of it t/c kicks in and stuffs you up... if i had t/c on my car, i would swap the butto so it is off when i turn my car on an i can turn it on when i want... just my opinion
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
this may sound stupid but is your car on gas????
Its a common miss conception that people actually use their brains before they speak.
who was that question for genetic?

if anyone knows how to swap the t/c button so its automatically off i need to know coz my mate wants to do it in his clubby

On my Clubby the T/C automatically is on whenever I start the car even if is was off when I last turned the car off. I thought it was the same with all of them?
I would assume if the option exists at all (to have the traction control, but to start up in the "off" condition) then it might be a BCM programming thing.
That being said, I am only assuming....
I have had the question asked though - it wouldn't be too difficult for me to design a small piece of add-on hardware to do this, without having to go to the dealer and ask about having BCM options changed. Any interest??
(I'd go to the trouble if I can flog a few...)

I think you already know that I'm interested Phreddy, but pencil me in as well. The T/C on VY's is an absolute pain in the ass! If you could work out a way for it to be automatically off (with the option of turning it on if you ever need to) that would be sweet!
Also along the same lines, would it be possible to rig up the Power button so it automatically goes to OFF when you restart the car? I like having the Power off while the engine is still cold.
I'd be interested in both of these, pending the size of the hardware (how discreet it is), whats involved in fitting it and the cost.
Yeah mate, that's how they all are. PITA!
