Sounds like there's a tiny diesel running in there . . .

Engine in my folks' VY V6 Tonner sounds ... well ... like there's a tiny diesel running in there as well . . . it's only faint, but there's a weird muffled rattle that sounds like a diesel engine. Could something be wrong here or am I worried over nothing? Seems to do it cold and hot.

check so see if there any thing that could rattle on the engine or in the engine bay while its running

Hey mate,

check the manifold and exhaust setup. there might be a slight hole developing which on my last car caused a simular sound
