    Default side door strips

eyy, i need to replace the side door strips on my vy commordore. does anybody know what they exactly r called? They are the black stripes that are halfway on each door on the executive models. The models that dnt have colour colted all around.

    Cheers

Thay are called door moulds . They only come in grey and must be painted to suit the colour code if nessasary.

Remove the old mould and fit the new type on with double sided tape on the top and sikaflex on the bottom.

The reason thay break is cos the tight ass in holden dont fit enought glue to hold them to the door skins.

Yes I have this problem. When you open the door it catches on the front guard and gives you a loud bang because the glue ('urathene' I think they use) has lifted a bit. Ive just taped the end down a bit while I wait to get it fixed.

I want to remove mine altogether, but apparently they are stuck on pretty tight and will probably damage the paint when they are removed. I think the car looks better without them in my opinion.

Just ask him if he has some vy door protector strips... only get them if you plan to paint them. Thats what i did and it saved me $500

I was thinking about taking mine off the VZ, as one is already half off (well it was until today), but with kids, shopping centers they come in handy. Gonna paint em instead.
