a second lighter socket

g'day all i have a navigator like alot of people do now, the lead runing from the centre consol to the passenger side of the windscreen is a pain in the ass, i want to install another lighter socket i was hoping to put it in the glove box, has anyone installed another socket anywhere on the passenger side dash, if so where and how hard was it to do thanks

not quite what you are asking but there is a genuine Holden part which replaces the pouch under your stereo with a ashtray and lighter socket/lighter which is a bit closer to where you want it. and also means there is probably a the correct wiring in this area there is also the wiring for the hands free kit which has a 12v supply (probably on a different fuse) and it is accessible through the glove box (right hand side panel). plenty of threads on here about it and you can but the plug for it on ebay

As said above, the appropiate plug for the additional lighter is behind the console under the radio, easliy got at by dropping down the panel uder the sterring coloum and undoing the 4 screws on the side of the dash, that will get you to the plug.
