Need help! how to sell a VY and where

I have been trying to sell my series 2 SS commodore for the last 4 months and had not bites at all.

Just wondering where people advertise etc. the car is on carsales.com.au this site and another and still nothing at all.

i sold my car on carsales.com(vz sv6) it took a while but it sold. $20 run it till you sell it, dont bother with trading post its like 40 bucks with no pic for 2 weeks

Well with the new model out there are heaps of vy's around atm.
Might find it hard to sell, unless you drop it of course.

also as it is a V8 and the cost of running them these days could be a problem.

When I sold my VT I put it on the Main Road with 1000's of cars going past it per day.

You could also put it on ebay with a reserve price on it!!!

Trading post is alright, but list it online so you get some pics with it. Suprisingly I ended up selling my last car through the weekend paper and had the most phone calls through that ad as well.

Word of mouth can help, tell all your workmates, mates, rellies, anyone you can think of. Show and shine events, drag meets (legal), window advertising. Try the LS1 forums, they dont seem to mind V8's They may also be able to help spread the word.

Best of all, these alternatives basically wont cost you a cent.

Oh yeah, time of year can be a big factor to, you said that you have been advertising for four months? That takes us back to just before christmas. Best time of year for either the selling or buying of vehicles is tax time, late july through to early odd September.

sold my vn to a mate, the same night i decided to sell it didnt even have to advertise

sold my vt through a wanted advert in the quokka took 3 months to sell - had it advertised on quokka, ebay, & carsales.com.au and this forum aswell

sold my vs ute through for sale in the quokka 2 weeks after the advert, had it advertised in sunday times, ebay, autotrader and this forum aswell

sold my vs sedan through the quokka, and this forum in sold it 2 days after the advert

as for buying well bought my vn out of the local community paper in albany

bought my vs ute out of the auto trader

bought my vs sedan out of the sunday times

bought my vt off my dad

bought my stato out of the sunday times

and bought the vx acclaim out of carsales.com.au
