This is my first post,
I have a 2003 series 1 VY commodore at 56,000ks the ABS light was illuminating and the Internal Module was replaced due to fault code 71 present these are the words on the warrany invoice / Report.
At 75,000 ks it started again with the ABS fault coming on when the car is started and the system checks are being completed. It seems that it happens less frequentley when you have your foot on the brake as you start the car not sure why however its a real pain starting the car 3 times just to get the ABS to work.
I used to have a VT and would short out the pins, read the flashes and interperate the codes, can anybody tell me which pins to short out on the plug under the steering wheel on the VY, and where to read the codes? I have read up on the 16 Pin OBD-II style connector however the pins appear to be in different places.
The way I figure it if I get the same code 71 I can ask for a warranty on the repair as they say the holden parts replaced have a 2 yr 50,000k warranty.
Any advice is appreciated
Hmmm, good question for Dr Bob methinks:
Ask the EX-Holden Technician

Further search through the posts on this very informative websites relating to other models led me to try starting the car with the mode and set buttons held, this opens a screen on the main speedometer window that provided, coolant temp, fuel on remaining etc, it also provide a window called fault codes, however there was just rows and rows of zeros? does this make sense to anyone??
Again any help is appreciated
Hi i am having trouble with my ABS light on the dash all of a sudden, i pulled code 21 and 25 and 28 which is front right and left wheels speed sensors. Do i need to replace the abs sensors in the hubs or is it something else? Thanks
Always start from cheapest and upI'd check the plugs for them first
Cheers,
Dave
Check the condition of your battery. It may be on the way out (failing).
Thanks guy's i checked the plugs and they looked ok, i cleaned the pins and the waterproof seal seems ok on the plugs. The battery is next. Just one more thing, it does not seem to happen when driving around town but as soon as i hit 100 on the freeway tends to activate the fault that seems a bit weird.
