Tried to eject a cd from my player today and got a "MECH Error" message on the display. The system won't even go into CD mode anymore now.
After reading other threads I tried disconnecting the battery so the system would reset but I still get the same "MECH Error" and now it thinks there are no discs in there.
Anyone any ideas?
do these, blaupunkts have a manual override where u stick like a paper clip down the hole to pop the disk out?
if not, id say mech error means it mechanically rooted and wont work - obviously
Bad news mate, if there are cd's in there it will need replacement.
Mine has the same problem and i took it to holden and there gonna replace it under warranty.
I had to leave the car there all day for the twits to take it out and go yep it needs replacing.
I have to get another one in there next week but im gonna replace it with after soon market anyway.
Tried resetting the system 4 or 5 times today and got nowhere so I think I have to now accept it is dead
Any idea how much the units cost or how much an aftermarket equivalent would be?
I have a 3 year /175,000km warranty but it doesn't look like it will cover this.
The audio system should be covered. Short of you actually doing something to it......or playing an ABBA CD.
lol
Unfortunately it is not, I presume it would be covoered on a new car warranty, the one I have is just a certified used car warranty. Holden gave me a list of items covered and nothing related to the audio system is on there.
I will still try and get them to fix itWhen I bought the car I put 6 cd's in there, this is the first time I have tried to eject one.
They will fix it with the new car but with used car it is less likely.
I wouldn't bother trying to get another one cause they wont be cheap, just go after market then you can get MP3 and you don't even have to worry bout the 6 stacker thing you can fit 100+ songs onto one cd easily.
Finally got around to taking my car into Holden and they are going to fix it under warranty :-)
