Hey guys,
Just bought a 2003 VY S Pack series 1 for myself today, it's a Holden by Design and has leather + Sunroof. Done 98,xxx km and I pick it up Friday
What do ya's think? What are some easy mods to increase a bit of power out of it? I'm guessing exhast, extractors would be the first things to line up, what about after that?
Cheers,
Zep

Hey
Nice car mate, ummm maybe get a ss induction kit done for cold air intake after extractors and exaust.
btw how much did ya pay for that ? (if ya dont mind me asking)
love that interior
We got rep back, yaaay!
Thats one awsome looking car, I love it
Nice seats, wish I had some!!
As for power, Add some Yella Terra 1.95 Roller Rockers, then exhaust.
Thats enough to give the VY a bit more Kick!!
If I'm not pulling Toyota's out of the Bush, I'm pulling 12's in the Sig :-)
VY CHRISSO do the Yella Terra 1.95 Roller Rockers come with the pushrods included as the VY series 2 have problems with the clearance needed for the pushrod recess closest in proximity to the rocker mounting post
VY03, yeh they come as a kit with new Pushrods(shorter), new mounting plates(saddles) and Bolts, They also include detailed instructions. If you can't have them fitted within 1.5hrs, their is something wrong!!.
I have heard of a problem with the series11 VY and the pushrod clearance.
If you look at the Raptor VY project car thread, Im sure we covered it in there!! Simply removing some of the Sloppy Holden Casting Dags is all it takes.
Must be sure to be 100% carefull when doing this because if you drop just one piece down the Gallery, you may as well pull your engine out, strip and clean it internally!! Best bet is to block all holes with rags etc and use a Vaccuum system to catch the bits as you break them off!!.

Some people say you need to change the valve springs or are the stock ones good enough to reuse
When you mean break off the bits of casting dags can you grind them off carefully or do it by hand
Oh yeah 21K with the leather seats and sunroof, with a 3 year warranty, is pretty good deal.
You will have to break them off by hand or use a die grinder. I would rather break them off as it will be much cleaner and less chance of metal fragments ending up in your engine!!
no need to change Valve springs as the standard ones are more than adequate!! Even with rockers and 10 psi boost!!

Hey guys,
just an update on my car:
Sorta crapy quality, taken off my camera on my phone, I'll take more later.
Since I bought the car i've:
- Put on Pacemaker extractors, 2.5inch redback exhaust.
- Completely debadged apart from the Lion on the boot.
- Took off mudguards & weathershield on windows.
To come in early Jan I'm puttin in a $3,500 Alpine system into the car which should be quiet entertaining. Also re-doing the tint to darkest legal as it's getting very hot!
Cheers.
