    Auto or manual?

If it is auto, then the boot is attached to the knob and clipped under the surround. So you could need to take the bottom section of dash out (arm rest to bottom storage tray piece inc window switches etc), then unscrew the gear selector surround, which should then allow you to take the knob off by undoing the grub screw and get the boot off.

Yep, the VY & VZ auto's do.

I would imagine it would be a similarish set up tho.

all done guy's .the only thing was there is a zippy tie around the base of the boot onto the gear knob.had to break & replace.gee i HATE the way the boot clips onto those little spikes!surely a more secure method could have been found.many thanks.
    cheers
