Hi Guys.
Just wondering if anyone has done the VZ fender vents on a VY? If yes, pliz provide tips on how to go about doing it? Will appreciate it.![]()
Cheers...
Best way I think is to buy the VZ guards with the cut outs there.
Have them and the vebts painted up.
Remove the first old fender, three bolts up top in the engine bay plus two torx bolts for the bonnet lifter.
Remove bolt behind door at very top (tight with a socket but can be done)
Remove two bolts at bottom oh you will need to remove your skirt to get to them.
Undo screws holding lining in place push back lining looking from the wheel arch back down the inside of the guard you will see one more bolt. It's a bit of a hard one to get & found a 10mm ROE best to undo it.
You then need to pop the guard off as it kind of clips it's self over the top in to the engine bay.
Should pop off, aerial will slide out & unclip the blinker wire, all done.
Put the three clips in to the clip holders on the guard vent then push the guard in upwards so the catches slide on to the guard then press the bottom in so all three clips pop in to the guard as well.
Plug the wiring in and place the guard over the lip in to the engine bay.
Now there is a piece of plastic that the guard will need to slide under closer to the windscreen end, you will see it.
The loosely start putting the bolts back but take your time as you will need to reline the guard up, this means opening & shuting bonnets & doors alot as the bolt holes have a lot of adjustment.
When done rescrew up the liner screws and it should all be good I think?
Don't forget to make sure the blinker is working first mind you.
Any one please let me know if I have forgot any thing.
