    Default bullbar

    Hi does any body know anything about this bullbar I got it off ebay for $50 and it is suposed to be for a vy but there is nowhere for the brackets to bolt onto maybe there are parts missing,I cannot see a brand name so i can chase up brackets if I need them.
    Any help would be apreciated

    No no no and no....never get any brackets custom welded for an airbag compatible bar. This is a genuine Holden frontal protection bar. Try Holden for the brackets, or even a wreckers. The airbag issues are with the brackets mainly and not the actual bar, the brackets have to be weak enough so as not to affect the triggering of the airbag. They have to collapse the same way the front of the car does in a collision so the microswitches still operate at the preset decelleration rate. If you get them from a wrecker, have a look to see if there are any obvious cracks and also if the paint has any signs of the bracket being bent.

    great thanks for the answer I did not even know that holden had a genuine bullbar and I would not get it welded in million years because of the airbag I will check my holden dealer and I will let you know how I go

    Hi I got onto holden and the don.t sell the brackets seperate(the support bar anyway) so I will just have to keep my eyes open It will be hard to get one from the wreckers that has not been smashed in the front.If anybody hears or knows where i might be able to get the brackets and support bar please let me know it would be apreciated

    Hi I never did get any brackets for it even after a lot of searching so i gave up and got a bull bar with brackets.
