Default As I was saying ... Climate Control

    Hey guys,

Great to see you back up and running again

I am wanting to put climate control into my non-climate controlled VY.

I understand that the dash fascia needs changing, is there anything else required, wiring etc?

    Cheers

I would say this would be very difficult to do.
I think that you would need new wiring looms, BCM and sensors, etc.
Don't take my word on it though.

I would like to do this to my VY as well.

    Ahhh, a WANGaRaTTa lad!

I was born n bred in Wangadiddly but moved down to the big smoke 5 years back to get a bling bling kinda buzz Families all still residing in and about the township though.

Anyway, thanks for the advice I would like to have it confirmed for me though so I don't go spending cash that could have gone toward other goodies.

it wouldnt be easy as the cars that come stadard with climate control have totally different wiring though out them. i thinu are going to have to get the wiring and computer out of a calais or such and then run it though ur car. alot of work

Man don't do it. Its hard enough in VN to VS (gave me a week long headache to do mine) but in a VY?! Nah man.

I couldn't even find an auto elec to do it for me so in a VY its definitely a do it yourself.

Only option would be to completely swap to Calais wiring so its all just plug and play and no wiring to do but theres still going to be sensors everywhere, heater box etc..

Ok ya done it, ya gone n turned me off climate control dag nab it!

I used to own a Fairlane once and changed the dash over to Fairlane Ghia and it all plugged in without a hassle.

That model turned 20 years old this year, it's a shame Holden can't be so generous and use the one loom to allow optional extras to be fitted with ease.

    Thanks anyway guys
