    Default Tune

I'm interested in getting a tune for my ss, im just curious as to how much it will cost and which was is the best to go. Mafless or a Ls1 edit? Do you really get more power out of a mafless tune or is that just a rumor?
So far all i have is catback 2.5inch exhaust and removed the rear muffler which i think i want to put a hotdog or something on it to get rid of the drone, ive also got 3.9 diff ratio to get a bit more get up and go from low revs.
    Any input appreciated!
    Thanks!

Hard to tell you where to go when we dont know where you live!!!!

Mafless vs non mafless...well at one stage the mafless was better, without running an OTRCAI, now its even from what i understand. Unless you want to run an OTRCAI mafless tune is pointless.

I'm in Sydney on the northern beaches, i wouldnt mind getting an OTRCAI, but i guess whichever of the tunes is cheaper would be the one id go for, i dont really want to fork out big bucks for a tune!

Yep as minux said you need an otr intake before mafless would be better then maf tune. I went a maf tune on mine and made 236rwkw (191 standard) because i wanted to keep the standard intake because the car's still under warranty. I also got a ripshifter fitted (good thing that).

I'd just go a standard tune, around $800 these days depending on where you go. Seeing as you are ins ydney id go to Marranos Enhancement Division - LS1/LS2/L76/L98 Performance Specialists the guys there are awesome, i just wish i had the time to drive up there to get some work done.

Oztracktuning does mafless tunes for $500 for a dual spark tune. I have one in my VY Clubsport as well as an OTR, and it made 248.8rwkw on the SAS dyno. The car had a maf tune by Marranos before that and made 233rwkw on the same dyno. I have found the car has better throttle response and more midrange with the mafless tune. If you have the cash go with an OTR as well the induction sound is truly awesome!
