You wont get them off without damaging the paint, so unless you're planning on painting the doors, I'd leave them. Some people here have suggested using fishing line or various solvents, but the general concensus was that it's near impossible to do without somehow wrecking the paint. The glue they are stuck on with is REALLY strong (sikaflex?).

Looks like you might just have to accept that Exec's came out with door strips!

The cracking seems like another fault on VY's. I have 2 VY's here, and both have a strip or two cracked.

if you really want to replace them, you will probably need to respray but you could try to use a hair dryer and fishing line.. will take a while but this is all i can think of without damaging paint work.

i dont even know if that will work. theoretically it should. good luck with it anyway.

Has anyone tried removing the glue with a caramel wheel? It works really well on VR and VS Commodores.

i got mine off by pulling them slowly and then for the crap left behind i used petrol soaked rag, let the petrol soak in to the crap for about 5 min then it peels off.

didnt stain the paint at all

    cheers

Strips like that are easy to take off, same as normal VR/VS strips as they're not large enough to be held on by too much sikaflex.

Just use a jug of boiling water or a heat gun to soften up the sikaflex then use a stanley knife to cut the edges away until you can grab the strip, then she should just pull off fairly easy.

The leftover just use a caramel wheel.
