Gear knob

hey people jus wanted to know how the gear knob and boot comes off im guessing the knob jus comes off by turnin it but do you hav to take centre cosole off to get the boot off
ne help would be great thanks

You have to pull off the centre console surround, getting the boot of will then be plain to see. Pulling the knob off can be done in two ways, you can pull the hell out of it with the shifter in position in the car and hope it comes off. The easiest way I have found is to take the whole shifter arm off (only two bolts with 10 mm heads) put it in a vice and you will see it is a lot easier.

May I ask why are you taking the knob and boot off? If you are going to replace the knob what are you going to do with the old one and if you are going to get rid of it I would be interested in it.

I am assuming after all this that it is a 6sp manual

hey sorry but im not gettin rid of the gear knob maybe jus gettin a custom gear boot made up... Thanks for ur help but
