VY 5-6 Speed Manual Conversion HELP!
Hi there,
Just wondering if any one has done a manual conversion on their commodore
if so can you put a six speed in a 03 VY Calais 3.8L Ecotech i know you can put a five speed in but can you put a six speed in.

Im also interested in swapping auto to manual, and found out your looking at over 3k to swap a six speed in.

I to have also been tempted to change mine to a manual seams to be way to expensive though $2500  . Why don't you buy a car with a manual transmission when you are ready for your next one.

did the VY come out with the V6 6Speed though? or was it only the 5?
Youd be looking at around 3 easy....
Theres alot to add and remove. Not an easy task.

To take an LS1 to manual, you are looking at around 4-5k, thats with everything matching, not sure how things would go with the 6...

yeah but LS1 gear boxes are heaps more expensive than a v6 box.... v8's always cost more..... i dont even think there was a 6spd V6...!

yeah VY has the 5 speed manual, and the VZ has the 6 speed

Well youd need a VZ bellhousing and box then....is it the same engine?

everything is possible with money, you never know, a ecotec 5-speed bellhousing could bolt upto the vz 6 speed box,
wont know until you expirment

I think holden used the same auto box vy/vz so maby you'd be lucky with the manual being the same. I have a feeling though the vy box was a getrag and the vz a asian box or something like that?
