You can use the standard shocks and struts, the FE2 suspension had a different shock valving, making it a bit stiffer. It would only drop it by about 20-30mm. New shocks and springs are around $600 so $400 is a bit much IMO.
G'day All, I can purchase complete set genuine Holden FE11 suspension, Front Struts and springs, Rear shocks and springs, and read other threads that say the standard struts and shocks are fine with the FE11 springs.
I already have the 17 inch alloys on the car but wonder should I get the lot or just the struts and shocks. The car has 56K on the clock.
Also how much does the car drop by from standard height.
Would appreciate any contributions. By the way 400 bills the lot.

hi mate,
i have the FE2 springs (just the springs, theres no need to swap over the struts n shocks) in my 04 VY II Acclaim, they came out of a Clubby II (my cousin gave em to me when he got super lows fitted).
Imo its the perfect height, im un sure of EXACTLY how many inches it drops the car by, its not by much, but when parked next to a stock height vy the difference is noticable! here's sum pics if it helps:
(Note: 04 II Acclaim Wheels are 15" HAHAHA)

If i was to put super lows in the rear of my VYS2 sedan how much would it drop it from standard height and would i need to change the shocks?
I will be leaving the front as standard but want to make the rear of the car level with the front.
Thanks to Not an Abba Fan and nEb for your replies, I will go the springs only road, and save $ and time. Cheers
my mate had a vt s-pack fe2 suspension put king spring super lows in the back with (18" rims *duno about tyre profile*) and it was sitting in the guard, front had lows and was a nice height. super lows in the back was a bit over the top but depends all on the look your going for.. but if you put super lows in the back and leave stop fe2 springs in the front wud look at bit od (or fully sick :S) as u wud have back in the guard and front raised like hell
*note he didnt change the shocks though depending how you drive you shouldnt damage them to much just got to worry about the bump stop in the shocks when going over speed humps and stuff.
