Hi guys, I have been offered a swap, for My VY + $4000, for a 1998 Nissan GU patrol 4x4, 4.5 petrol, ARB Winch Bar, 3" Lift kit, Driving lights, duel fuel tanks 130 litres petrol, dual battery's, Roof Rack, Fridge plugs, Air, Cruze, 7 seater, Cooper tyres, Service history etc... 225000km??????
Should I do it?? I love my 4X4's, and I am very tempted, just want your opinions first.....
Please Help...Cheers, Chrisso.
If I'm not pulling Toyota's out of the Bush, I'm pulling 12's in the Sig :-)
no chance lol
Not a diesel, forget it!
98 with 225ks...and a petrol....he should just be giving you $4000 to take it.
nah man as much as i like 4X4 i would still be keeping the vy for sure that is a terrible deal
I wouldn't say it's a terrible deal at all, the $4000 part is mabye a bit too much but vy execs. are not worth anything these days. How many kays has your vy done? With a bit of fine tuning and depending on the condition of the 4x4 i would consider this deal for sure.
Thanks Heaps guys, Its a hard one, My VY has 105,000 k's on it, The GU is Immaculate, Heres a look.
Nissan Patrol GU ST 4x4 will deal ,last time on ebay - eBay Patrol, Nissan, Cars, Cars, Bikes Boats. (end time 02-Nov-07 21:09:23 AEDST)
Let me know Ur thoughts after looking at it...Cheers..

Well, its about on par for a deal i'd say.
But personally i wouldnt touch a petrol 4x4, turbo diesel all the way.
And if a 4x4 is what you are after, then i'd say sell your VY and find one that is perfect for you, you dont have to do a trade just becuase the option came up to.
Wernt you after a Turbo XR6 a while back??
What happend to a performance car lol
LOL...Yeh tossing between performance and off Road....
All I have owned is 4x4's I'm heavy into Off Road, but don't mind quick cars as well, It was a choice between what I wanted more...Camping and off road or cruzes and a quick car/loss of licence etc, i think my heart is with the 4x4's, I can always build a quick car later on and have both... It will be a Datto with a Holden engine..........

i agree with wagon wheel, turbo diesel all the way.
im a dead set holden fan had 8 in the past 3 years but after not long ago getting an 83 HJ60 Landcruiser with my dad as a project/fixer upper im considering my next upgrade to be either a 100 series landcruiser or 2006/2007 nissan pathfinder
i wouldnt trade your vy for a petrol patrol mainly because you will be looking at 17l/100km and upwards for a start, much better off looking for a diesel,
my friends parents have a 4.5 manual gu and there putting endless amounts of fuel through it, just a warning,
also petrol engine + water crossings dont mix to well a lot of the time

and also dont buy a 3.0 diesel patrol, they do heads usually i think around 100k mark, i think they start pulling the valves into the seats and wear them out, i think not 100%

Ha Ha, yeh thought of that, been looking at a few GQ shorty's with Holden V8's, But they are not really Family orientated, and with 2 Kid's, I need to consider their comfort.....
Thanks heaps guys, I looked at a GU 4.5 in a local yard today, Midnight Blue, 200k's, and a really noisy engine and oil leaks everywhere!! very disapointing for such a nice car!! Also, all the door rubbers on the rear doors had rubbed all the paint away, to bare metal....Yuck!!
