How hard is it to change the cam in the 3.8L V6??
Depends if u know what your doing or not. be a days work in it easily. provided you documented the process of talking it apart you should have no problems doing it.
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
take the engine out, strip it, install cam, build it again and then put the engine back in. can take a while if u do it urself. took my mechanic a few days but im geuessomg thats with alot of distractions amnd stuff like that
yeh if you know what your doing and av done it a few times before, you could do it in a weekend taking your time or in a day or so, going for it providing you have engine crane etc, or you might be able to jack the motor up a bit by undoing the engine mounts and carefully useing a jack with a block of wood underneath the sump area, then strip the top half of the motor and remove the cam, you'll have to remove the radiator and front grill, but if you don't have an engine crane, might be an easier way and you don't have to remove the motor completly, then just jack it up enough to get the cam out.
any suggestions wheres the best place to source a cam?
