hey everyone, i bought a pair of sprots ryder coils for the rear, tryed to put them on today, i removed the wheel, undid the shocker but still couldnt get the spring out, do i need spring compressors to do the job? or am i just missing something. thanks guys
With IRS you need to compress the spring to get it out. You may not need to compress the new spring to put it back in though.
how much do spring compressors go for? i might have to pick some up tomorrow then, thanks heaps for that
I bought a set for about $25. There are cheaper ones, if you only use them rarely, no need to buy expensive ones.
thanks for your help Not_An_Abba_Fan , went to super cheap, they had them for $40, so i went to autobarn and picked up some for $21, should do the job![]()
after heaps of stuffing around, me and a couple mates finally got the springs out, the compressors are pretty much useless now (all bent) but here is the finished job. thanks again =)
p.s the pic is of me bogging it down, its not that low when driving but still looks really great. sits just above the 17" rim.
wen getting the springs out, did u take the handbrake off?![]()
Looks great man, how much did you pay all up?
The springs are reasonable, i think mine were around the $260 mark all up
