Default Resetting SRS Air bag warning

I have removed my steering wheel and air bag to fit the satin inserts.

I now have the air bag warning on permanently even though I have put everything back in place.

Does anyone know how to reset the warning ?

Yes I am sure its back together properly.

I think that you have to go into a Holden workshop and get them to reset the warning.

Yep, can only be reset by Holden. You must have turned the key on while the airbag was disconnected.

Yeah, I read that in one thread somewhere too, but I had the battery disconnected until I was finished.

It would be nice to be able to reset the flag without the General's assistance.

Ahhh...both terminals or just the negative? The positive has to be disconnected to totally disconnect power from the car. Also, the airbag capacitor will still have power stored in it even with the battery disconnected. Good practice is to disconnect the battery and turn the headlights on. This will discharge the capacitors so that if the key was turned on, it won't set he warning light.

i had this same problem when i upgraded my steering wheel to the SS leather one with the nice satin chrome spokes, holden asks for 65 bux i think, took it down to the local mechanic who happened to have a dyagnostic computer/machine thing (same **** that holden uses) set me back 20 bux

    take that GM!

    Ok,

when I took the steering wheel off again I found that the yellow plug, the detonator ?, was not seated properly.

I had just plugged it in but had not pressed it in to lock it.... d**khead...

So unless any one knows how to reset it I will have to go the GM route....

Im almost 100% sure that there is no way that you can reset it yourself, so you are going to have to go the Holden route.
