VY and JVC KW-AVX800

Hey guys
I have a vy calais and i want to put a dvd player in it. I have been looking at the JVC KW-AVX800 and I was wondering if that would fit in the vy. I am looking for a good fit. Currently, I have a cheap one from ebay and it doesnt fit properly, So I would like to know if the JVC head unit would fit.
Any info would be great.

Yes, it will fit just fine. I have the earlier model (AVX700) in my VY.

However, you will need a fascia adapter to mount it - the opening in the VY/VZ dash is not a perfect 2DIN rectangle, it is curved outwards and is wider at the top.

As far as I know you still can't buy these adapters from retail shops, but they are made by Metra in the US and are commonly available on eBay for about $80. Search for VY fascia and you'll get heaps.
