    Default A few questions :)

I plan to buy 19' alloys in the next couple of weeks but I also want to lower my car so I have a few questions

    a) How low should I go?

    b) What parts are needed?

and c) What average price am I looking at? (I don't want to get ripped off here!)

    Any help will be appriecated

My mates paid about $1500 for their set of 19"s from Bob Jane they had them on special and they look really nice.. I guess it all depends on what "look" you want and what kind of tyres.. Shop around I am sure you will find something really nice for a reasonable price.. I've seen some really nice 19's (new) sell with tyres for around $1500-$2200 locally..

Oh it might also be a good idea to get lock nuts or a set of mags that come with a cap like mine.. Makes em a little bit harder to steal.

I'm not 100% sure with the VY's but with my VX I have to get a camber kit when it gets lowered so the wheels don't sit on an angle and wear out the inside.. They are sitting on a little bit of an angle atm as it is..

And with being lowered it depends on if you have a bodykit or do you plan on getting a kit fitted, if you are I would get the kit first so you can determine how low it should go without scraping on everything.. I can get my car's suspension fully replaced and lowered 2" for $900 from a mate at a tyre power but I am gunna get the kit on first cuz I don't wanna rip the kit apart especially with the roads around north brissy, they are shocking.

Hope this has been of some help =)

No camber kit is required if u dont go any lower than FE2 height or king springs low which are the same height.

VY SI and VY SII both come with basic camber kits from factory

True, but if you decide to go lower only half kits are required to do the job

it pulls the wheels in so that they line straight up and down rather at an agle that causes the tyres to wear out excessivly on the inside. well worth having if you dont want to be buying new tyres every 6 months

depending on what you want ,but you can ether just get the springs which will be $250-$300 which will work fine or you can get shocks as well which can vary from brand to brand $300-500 front $100-200 rear you wont need a camber kit as from vx 11 on they come standard with multi link rear end
these prices are without fitting i have seen kits on ebay with springs and shocks for $500-$600
I am running super lows front with stock FE2 shocks and SSL rear with koni red shocks all up cost me about $550 fitted with a wheel alignment
my rims are 19" XHP chrome jets

When you lower the car the lower control arm pushes the bottom of the wheel out. Fitting the rear camber kit allows it to be adjusted back in. It also gives a greater range of movement than the existing adjustment. The single adjustment causes both camber and toe to be adjusted at the same time, having the aftermarket kit fitted allows camber and toe to be adjusted separately.
