VZ were both. They retail for about $52 per side. They say 5.7 Alloy V8 on them.

I don't think he's knows what he's on about the fact they say 5.7 litre on them proves it... They should just bolt on to the brackets for the turtle shell..

I think you mean these ones?

As said above, they're VZ SS engine covers and they were also on some HSV's I think. I got them put on for around $55 per side from memory.

The two piece hands down. Not only do they look better IMO but they also allow your engine to run cooler, since the heat can escape better.

i am getting them for looks only, but can you notice any difference
regarding less heat in engine bay??? ie more power??

To be honest, the difference in power is negligible - I didn't notice any real improvement.

But I did notice that the engine runs slightly cooler, and that has to be a good thing...

You don't get any more power. But it helps keep the intake runners cool so you don't lose power due to heat soak.

think of the turtle shell as a big plastic blanket covering up your motor and more importantly the bananas. got to be good to keep them cool, heat escapes more easily. you could always go naked under the bonnet, but i prefer the split covers to keep dust and stuff off my coil packs.

I grabbed a set of imitation HSV GTS covers off ebay for $100 delivered! Much better than the holden covers.

From memory they clip on.I think you remove the brackets and just push them on.
