I have seen this on ebay too. I think it's a bit dodgey. Yes the front of the OTR is bigger, but it still the same shape infront of the throttle body, and over the radiator. Look at the shape of it, I doubt there would be the difference they claim as I don't think the air from the bottom would make it to the inktake. I'd be sticking with something like a PT copy. They are pretty cheap on Ebay too.

    Hi guys,
I was also interested in getting an OTRCAI as i have a SS inductions big mouth intake and have heard mixed reviews about it.... so my questions are...
    1. Should i get an OTRCAI and scrap the SS inductions intake? Will i noticed much performance difference and is it worth it?
    2. Are all the OTRCAI pretty much the same or some better than others?
    3. VYClubby what do you mean by PT copy?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Mate, if you have already spent that much on a SS induction intake, I wouldn't bother looking for something else. The $/hp is not worth it.

The SS Inductions one on the V8's are restrictive anyway. Get rid of it.

plus with the OTR CAI you need a mafless tune (from memory), because you removing the sensor, correct me if I'm wrong.

With one of these you are. OTR stands for over the radiator, so basically just about any CAI is OTR. When you remove the MAF sensor it becomes a mafless OTRCAI.

I wouldnt be driving one around for too long without the tune. Speed density fuelling (mafless) is a failure mode & is not really set from the factory for continuos use. Not to mention you will have a failure chime everytime you start the car until it is switched off in the tune.
