Hi fellow Commodore lovers
Just got a new VY and trying to put the seat covers on it from my VT
But I cannot get the front headrest to lift off - and the seat covers only have two small holes for the headrest "masts" to slot through
Any info?
thanks
Janine
You shouldn't be fitting seat covers to a VY with Side Air Bags unless they are the Holden approved ones, which aren't even really a seat cover, more a strip that covers the middle of the seat.
Who said it even has side air bags??
If it does, don't fit the seat covers. The airbags are inside the seat and can cause you more injuries in an accident than having no airbags at all if incorrect seat covers are fitted.
To get the head rests off you need to push the adjusting tab on the driver side of the car, while placing a piece of wire in the hole opposite to the adjusting tab(on the other side of the head rest) .You can use anything that will fit in the small round hole, just push it in and lift the headrest up.Then you just push it back in when you're finished fitting the seat cover, pull up on it while holding in the tab to make sure it locks in after you've fitted it.
Hope this helps.
how do i find out if it has side airbags?
let something hit you from the side.
