    Default VY maintenance computer readings

    Hi,

Does anyone know what is shown on the maintenance computer when it is connected to a VY?

    Anyone have any documents? manuals?
I believe that a laptop computer is connected to the car?

I would imagine it would show if the vehicle was over heated, red lined etc.

    Cheers,
    Craig

that they cant do that but maybe it may log a code if it was overheated, well when i spent some time on a tech2 i never come across that,

tech 2 can be used to program computers (only from holden specific files relative to body style, transmision, low or high series and engine), later models like vy, vz and ve tech 2 can be used to change paremiters like the diff ratio and wheel sizes to adjust the trans shift points and speedo readings,

tech2 and other scan tools like snapon vantagewill give you reading from sensors ie voltages, resistance etc,

tech2 can turn on components like the horn, wipers, stereo etc to test for dodgy circuits switches etc

well i think a tech 2 is worth about 8,000 i think, cheaper ones to buy would be the snap-on about 3000, and similar brands aswell

still want to but one lol

efi live will probably work and its free but you have to buy the adapter from somewhere, you can get them on ebay for around 50 bucks, not sure if there compatible tho
