    Default speedo on lcd display

    hey peoples.

    I've seen a few vy's getting around and the have an lcd readout of their current speedo on the lcd display, how do you access this feature?

    Need your computer tuned, or dash calibrated??? Want your PS3 fixed, or wish to prevent the YLOD?

    thanks bud, so i take it they have to configure it with their tools and there is no user (backdoor) way

    I don't think so, it takes them about 2 mins. to do with their computer.

    Is there any actual reason you want this feature? It doesn't actually do anything different to what your speedo already does.

    I actually prefer the standard dial speedo. You can tell roughly what speed you're doing in your peripheral vision by the position of the needle, without having to take your eyes off the road for too long. But hey, each to their own...

    it doesn't bother me either way, it's just a feature, that if it was free would be nice to have

    It isn't just a police thing. Calais had it enabled I know for certain, and I believe all HSV's have it as well. But I'm not sure with HSV's. Minux, does your Senator have it enabled? I was going to get it enabled at one point. But I figured it was a lot of messing around to get to a Holden dealer for 2 seconds of novelty value.

    i find it quite helpful because in certain light the angle of the plastics reflects and make it very hard to see the dial, the digital speedo is just at the right angle to make it visible

    you can press mode and set together when turning the car on to get a digital speedo, but its in tiny font, not like the police mode.
