Exclamation "Trac Off" stays on!

Hey yall.

Supercharged Vy (2003) Executive Series I.

Trac light stays on from keyturn, never resets, cannot enable cruise control either when this occurs.
Can enable/disable cruise and traction control when I start the car with the foot on the brake, but the "trac off light" comes straight on after I lift the foot.

The wild thing is, I can enable cruise control and turn traction on and off, when starting the car and holding the foot on the brake, but as soon as I lift the foot the trac off light returns instantly.
I can hear two clicks from the traction module under the hood just before the light comes on..

Regards.

Hey thats bizarre... maybe try disconnecting your battery and re-connecting. Or find the ECU fuse (if there is one, i'm not sure), and pull it out for a minute or so and then put it back in. Other than that not too sure sorry.

get the system checked for codes, this will indicate where the problem is.

thanks for the advice, i've checked the codes via system firmware, no "trouble codes" are registered.

Update: Installing a new brake switch has re-enabled the cruise control and the traction control, I hope this helps someone else, best wishes.

so you flashed the codes from the trac module???
or did you use a scan tool??

if the brake switch was to blame it wouldve logged a code
good to see you have it fixed

hey thanks for the reply, i know no technique as yet to "flash" codes as you have mentioned, but I do plan on writing some kickass software for the car as soon as I can purchase a cable maybe tommorow.

May I ask, what do you mean by "flash" codes? can you advise further, or perhaps link me to a resource? I want to learn as much about my car as possible.

Just to clarify, changing the switch has recitified cruise and traction, but it hasn't fixed the brake lights

With thanks in advance.
