Default parker light

hey guys
when i switch on my parker lights only one works, however if i go and tap very gently (doesnt have to be hard) the one that doesnt work will come on and stay on untill i switch of the car, then when i start the car again it will not work, but at times it surprises me and magically works!(unlikely though). Iv tried replacing the globe and the thing the globe in connected onto (as i have a second pair of lights). Also tried to remove the little ring of rubber around the thing the globe is connected onto in an effort to get a better connection with the front of the enclosure but no luck there either. its not that much of a big deal but it is annoying. Im guessing there could be something wrong with the actuall headlight enclosure. The are second hand genuine SS lights.

Either the globe is not seating firmly in the socket, or the socket has minor corrosion in it which prevents the contact until you tap it. Remove the globe, check it for signs of corrosion on the sides and on the base contact. Check the condition of the socket, clean out any corrosion you find, spray the socket with WD 40 to assist in the cleaning and removal of crap, then re-insert globe. This should do the trick.

Regards

pj

Very common on majority of cars, just replace the globe, the fillement insidethe globe is brittle/broken and once you tap the headlight lense it makes a contact which then makes the globe work.

Can't help with that one. I've never bothered with the LED craze, but I assume they would need a new socket fitting to be used to replace the existing globe socket. No idea where to go for them.
