Traction control noise

Over the last week my traction control has started making a horrible whinning noise for about 3 seconds after loss of traction. It has never made this noise before so worried it is on the way out.

Anyone else have this?

Yeah when my traction control has kicked in Ive heard a strange whine for a few seconds. No idea what it is. Ive only had the car for 6 months and never had traction control before this so I thought the noise was normal.

If my car is off and i turn it on, when i put it in gear and clutch out, in hear the traction control make the same sort of noise as it would when the car is losing traction (although it isn't losing traction!). This only happens for the first clutch out after turning it on.

Edit: Actually i think it's only when i rev it a bit and pull the clutch out as it is not always at first clutch out but 2nd or 3rd.. not a lot of revving but like 2000rpm then clutch out...

My Calais does it all the time when i loose traction that noise is normal when you loose traction, on the vy's it cuts the injectors so you cant plant it i think that is the noise you can here, on the vx's it apply's the breaks and push the accelerator up my mate did this and borke his diff (tryed to do a burn out with trac cont on ) so the noise is normal as per holden says.

The traction control on the Senator makes no such noise. Never heard any commodore with trac ctrl whine at the loss of traction.

Guys any light you could share on this topic would be great.
I have a Aclaim Series 2 VX Commodre and it makes this weired noise as well when traction control comes on and also when alcelerating and turning wheel first tiem on start up i have an Auto.
I Dont want to have to take it to Holden if its an easy fix?
Its the same problem as you guys in this topic have descibed.

My VY makes no noise like that when it loses traction, which doesn't happen much but if I ever have some fun on dirt roads, there is no whining. Nor was there any whining on my old VS which also had traction control.

Hi I think the noise you guys are hearing could be the ABS servo motor cycling as part of its functioning in the T/C system.
If it is indeed that, then its perfectly normal.

Happens when i accelerate for the first time.
Happens when I Loose traction.
Happens when i rev the motor hard over and over again.
its very strange.

Hey.
Um a whyne sorta noise or mechanical noise but yes there is that beep noise but that part is just normal.

I agree with this, i drive a VY Berlina aswell, the noise that is made when breaking tracking comes from the ABS servo motor and as a330 advised, its perfectly normal.
