    Default Brisbane Key Programming.

Anyone know of any place in Brisbane that codes the 3 button keys for VY's. My local Mr Minit only does up to VX's and All Holden dealers wanna pull my pants down over the price. (I am not prepared to pay $120 when i supply the key head myself)

I'm bumping this as I want to get my new keyhead programmed.
My local dealer has quoted $180!

Anyone know who else can do this?

Has he had any issues with the key he had programmed?
Just worries me a little getting stuck somewhere with the new key that won't talk to the car.

They go out to the car and program them I believe, so you will definitely know it works. Also I believe they are $100 for head + programming. Pretty decent price IMO.

$69? Which Mister Minit did you go to? I was told $100 and I need a new key head.

So you paid $60 for the transponder and $69 to program it?

I got told $100 to supply and program the transponder.

That I did. I phoned a couple of dealers and got quoted around the same price just for the programming no supply of parts!

Hi everyone, noobie here. Just thought I would share my recent key experience.

After reading a post on the VT forum explaining how to replace the battery, I decided to try it on my spare genuine VY key. All went well, but with new battery, there was typically no response from the car. I thought like many of you that I had to get shell out money to have it re-programmed, but I had a crazy thought. Unlocking my car with my good key, I started the car up using the unprogrammed key. It started ok, so I then tried locking the car, and it worked, and also unlocked it. So it seems that the car's computer re-programmed the key for me, at no cost.

Not sure if that will work with a non-genuine key head, but it could be worth a shot.
