Hi all,
Ok i have a few questions....
I have a VY SS hothouse green, it is a 6speed manual and has done 50,000kms. I am contemplating the mods i should do and whether its worth it, given my car already has 50,000kms.
At present I am in the process of upgrading the brakes to SSZ brakes with slotted rotors and good pads..
I am also planning on getting the ebay leather for my car, which i have seen and seems rather good.
I want to do an exhaust system, with extractors, an OTRCAI and mafless tune. I am also contemplating doing the cams, however i don't generally like keeping my cars over 100,000kms, so in about 3 years i will sell it... so do you think it is worth it?
Also do you think it will effect resale value, having been modded so much? Personally i don't like buying cars that have been modified, stock standard is the best... what do you all think?
Also i'm not all that familiar with the gen3's yet, but those gen3's i hear on the roads that sound like drag cars, that run really rough and sound great... is that the cams that do that?
Thanks for the help!
I would do the following:
1. Get a new color - Can't stand hothouse green
2. Extractors/Exhaust.
3. Cam
4. Tune
5. Leather

Aye mate don't disss the colour, i cop enough crap from everyone!.. it gets called all sorts of names... hulk, the slime machine, shrek, kermit the frog... the poor thing...
The interior isn't the nicest so i think i will move leather to the top of that list... and i might throw an OTRCAI in before the cams.
How much am i looking at for cams put in? Also, i've heard people refer to a cam and head package... is this just a cam pacakage?
Thanks...
I absolutely love hothouse green, that and the darkish purple. Go leather first i reckon, that'll take the interior up a few notches - besides it's not like you've only got 45kw to play with right now...1. Get a new color - Can't stand hothouse green
Sorry - because you mentioned it, I thought you agreed that the color sucked. Oops - my bad

It depends - how many cams were you going to install? 1 will cost a few hundred dollars if you are going to do the work yourself. 2 or more could cost many thousands.
They are probably going to change the cam and give you a head job. You would need to talk to them to confirm exactly what the specs are. Also, i've heard people refer to a cam and head package... is this just a cam pacakage?

ls1's only have 1 cam not cams
if you get mid to high 220 will give you a nice lumpy idle
cam only package will vary from work shops but average from $2500-3500 depending on what extras you get
you will also need to upgrade your clutch look at a tex z or x grip
head and cam package is pretty self explanatory its upgraded heads ether port standard head or after market heads like dart 205/225
H/C package is $5-6K
you will need to get headers 4 into 1 1 3/4 will be best
high flow metal substrate cats
twin 3" system
OTR
hear is a clip of my 222/224 cam only LS1

Nice sound GMMAD...
what sort of figures am i looking at for the car cammed with/without a tune?
Also is there any harm in getting a 3" exhaust instead of a 2.5" but not doing the cams?
Also are CAMS legal... i've been told they're illegal...
Have a look at the thread in the general section posted by Minux about the epa guidlines and open up the pdf file.

The cops can defect you for alot of things. If you don't give them a reason to go over your car, ie. drive like a dick, then a cam wouldn't be a problem.
