Default tyres for vy 18" whats gwd?

    hey everyone,

iv got to get new tyres for my vyss, its got 235/40zr18's on it, silverstone at the moment, went through a booze bus last night and was told i need new tyres as mine were unroadworthy and had a small hole in my drivers seat on the side of it, i'm thinking of getting michelin proceda pt2's on it, are these gwd and what are they roughly worth?

was told kendas are gwd too and silverstones are ok, it came with silverstones, but want to get a slightly better tyre, and i don't want directionals again, what do most guys run on there 18's, also are these michelenes gwd? thought of bridgetstones but been told there a real expensive tyre.

also anyone know of how much the black ss seat backs are worth? and are they easy to fit?

    much appreciated,

    Ben.

Toyo Teo Plus ($210 each), best i have ever had, last long, very quiet and comfortable, if you want more sporty go for the Kumho Ku-31 you just cannot beat it for $187 each, these prices are what i got from Tyre Power, i went with the Toyo Teo as they are slightly more quiet as i am a family man and the missus complained about the ones i had before, then again Kumhos are meant to be quiet for aggressive tread they have and very sticky(to the road).

I've got Bridgestone Potenza GIII's at $450 a corner. Stick like **** to a blanket. Although I don't think they're available anymore. Been replaced by Adrenalin Potenza RE001 I believe. A lot of people swear by Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX but I haven't had any experience with them.

Don't skimp on tyres mate. They're all that is between you and the road.

I believe Bridgestone is still making GIII's but not for much longer, because of the Adrenalin coming out.

$400 are tyre ? Thats rediculous, i am not saying they are bad tyres, but Bridgestone and Michellin Tyres and Dunlop you pay a premium on them purely for their name and they are OE tyre suppliers to major car manufacturers in Australia. Seriously if you wanna get anal about it and happily will spend $400 a tyre, please do yoruself a favour and Buy some Continental Tyres. These are purely the best. Probably followed by Goodyear eagles. But to save yourself a dollar, the Kumho Ku-31 for under $200 are the way to go. Seriously, prestige sports cars are installing them. If you wanna tell me you gonna use it for track work as well, go and read the reviews on them. Anyway up to you, as long as you enjoy them and they keep you safe.
