Quite confused

Hey guys and gals, i need some of ur expertise... the other day the gas in my VY (6 cyl, auto) freaking backfired on my car and blew up the airbox, i know this happens time to time with freaking gas, i must say im not a fan of gas but i use it for getting to work and **** (a bit of a trek to work lol you know how it is), anyway i replaced the top part of the airbox the next day and i am getting the gas re-callibrated or the mix checked next week so it wont happen again.

However this is not the issue, im driving around on petrol and last night it stalled out or just died i dunno wat happened, im thinking wat the hell right? All the hoses are fine, and theres still a small crack at the base of the airbox which i cant get replaced till next week, but it is sealed now and its on the clean side so that shouldnt be it. I thought i'd better ask the JC crew in the meantime till i can get my baby checked out. Anyway love some help if any of you got ideas?

How long since you last drive it on Petrol? Maybe your injectors are a little clogged because you havnt used them for a bit? Put a little 98 Ron Premium in with a bottle of Injector cleaner and try again. A crack in your airbox will not cause your car to stall on petrol, hell you can run the car without any airbox at all. lol.

Ok im getting a bit ****ed now ey, just went to the shops to pick up a few things, come back to the car and it wouldnt start. I popped the hood and gave it a few minutes before trying again and yay we have grunt grunt from mr. ecotec...sigh i cant wait till pay day then i hopefully can get this sorted, but its such an inconvenience as ive never had a problem with ma baby and i take such good care of her...=( not happy

PS: if i have to depend on my girlfriend driving me around i will post my testicles on the site ok? cause il have no need for them...

(not being sexist, i just dont like her driving and i usually get yelled at cause i tend to grab the wheel...or sit on her lap and drive...... then resort to tying her up and putting her in the back seat cause she nearly killed a small innocent stop sign...)

What brand of conversion did you get done?

was it the IMPCO?

i dont know the brand, cause when i bought the car it was all ready installed. I live in perth , the dudes from Steens(installer) know what there doing though they come quite recommended here ey. I dunno... they doing the calibration tomorrow morning YAY!!! hehe Im still ****ty though its stalling out on petrol...

Ok gas guys checked it out and couldnt find anything wrong, they replaced sparks cause i haven't done em in ages other than that all was going well. But today at the f***ing lights the revs jumped up to 2500? so i get home and chuck the car in park on both gas and petrol and yeah when in idle the cars rev's are going up to 2500...****ing weird.

I dont think theres a air leak anywhere but im not 100% sure...What else could it be? Throttle body needs a clean but its not like filthy or anything...any ideas???

When the gas backfired it may have blown the pipe off the bottom of the throttle body or just split it.
