I have a 2002 VY Belina with climate control and for some reason the fan only works when on the "high" setting. The fans refuses to work on any other fan speed even though the LCD display shows the fan speed setting ie 1 to 4 when you push the fan button...It has only started doing it within the last couple of weeks and I've looked in the manual and all the settings appear to be correct eg auto setting not on etc..
Its getting kinda irritating especially when your trying to demist the windows on a cold morning or having a conversation in the car.
Anybody got any advice on where should I get it fixed ie Holden, Auto Electrician or DIY?? and what the approximate cost would be..
Thanks for your advice in advance

Hello Kerb2Kerb
Your issue is most likely related to the Fan Resistor.
Its a little object about the size of a matchbox I believe.
Where it is located, im not 100% but people on this forum have had this issue before, just search in VS VT VX VY or VZ forums, Im positive all these models had the same or simmilar resistor.
It controls the speed of the fan, and HIGH is controlled by a relay. hence why HIGH still works, but nothing else
Its not expensive as far as I am aware, but again.. just go for a quick search
Cheers
Craig
Hi Craig thanks for the reply, apoligies for delay,, my computer crashed and it turned out to be the motherboard, damm electronics...
i have been reading through the "threads" re this problem with my fan and there is a how to change the fan speed resistor in one section...
Dont know if i'm game to do it.. maybe will try it when before summer...
best regards
Byron
itz quite an easy process itz right near the blower motor its got fins on it so it can be cooled by the fan should hav 2 bolts/screws holding it on. after u remove it just solder the broken terminal
