I think its a photoshop job but does anyone do something like this?
i was looking at doing something like that as well, but in billit aluminium... i think your photoshop looks better than whatever i would have created haha i think if someone has skills to make something like this they should, looks heaps better than the factory grille
well im thinking of buying two grilles and cutting out the holden symbol and filling the gaps with the flutes of the second grille. bit of glue, filler, primer and paint. in theory should work. i'll start looking into it and see how i go.
It's a pretty big job to cut the Holden badge right out - the badge is connected to every one of the grille slats and the top & bottom of the outer surround too. I hope you like bogging and sanding.
The centre bit is also a major part of the strength of the grille, so you might need to stiffen up each slat if you remove the badge. You could glue in some carbon-fiber rods from an aero-modelling shop to make them tougher...or you could just make a replacement in fiberglass.
i found a cool kit i got for my grille ill take some pics tomorrow and put them up they are chrome plates that clip over the old black parts of the grille looks nice on my berlina with the outer part of the grille chrome the chrome badge and now the chrome strips
would be sweet if the chrome plates went the whole way and you could cut out the symbol.
You bought those chrome strips off of eBay..? I'm keen to see some pics..
-Nick.
yeh got the kit from ebay i reckon ot was worth it. i love the look of the grille now im gonna try find a place that can bend me up on to go in between the for lights along that black fin reckon that would top it off
bit too much chrome for me, i think on my beast i would prefer just to have the slats in the middle not the whole grille. unless thats all you bought and the rest was already on the car.
yeh all i got was the slats its a berlina so came standard wit the chrome round the outside
I am intending to do a similar mod except im going the stingey way....
im simply gonna buy some silver contact (used for covering books etc...) and stick it wright down the centre horizontal slat of my grill...
if it looks crap big deal, 1 dollar is down the drain.
the kit on ebay is very expensive! maybe you should paint it yourself... however if you can afford to buy it just get it.
Money isnt exactly growing on trees for me at the moment![]()
i have looked for it on ebay since but havent found anything like it i was hoping to find a place down here who can make stuff like it and get heaps done and sell it myself ut ill have another look tomorrow and see if i can post up the link for you i reckon it was worth every cent
