Do i have a LSD?

Just got a VY Spack

how can you tell if it is fitted with an LSD? is there a badge or something or does the diff look different?

just wondering...

i doubt it, onli ss and the hsv range came out with lsd i think, u would just have a single pegger..

always one way 2 check go out and rip a skid

Put the car on level ground
Chock the front wheels
Jack up the entire rear end
Take the Handbrake off
Now turn one wheel as if the car was driving forward
If the other wheel turns in the opposite direction it isnt a LSD
If you find you cant turn the wheel by hand its a LSD
If you put the trans in Neutral and both wheels turn the same direction along with the drive shaft its a LSD
if you still cant work it out crawl under the car and see if there is a tag saying its a LSD

best way to check is to burn it up

if u dont want to, it shud have a tag sayin "high performance LSD" i think thats it

look under the car from the rear and look at the center of your diff and then look up to the top right corner of your diff casing and you will see a big tag that will stick out like dogs balls if it has the tag you have LSD

ive looked under the car and it doesnt have a tag...

but if i turn one wheel, the other wheel doesnt turn the opposite direction (i had it up on a hoist)

umm not to sure the only thing i have realy seen is the tag havnt bothered loking at anything else lol but yea no tag no lsd unless you are good with a welder and are handy at takin a diff off lol

Stock it won't be fitted with an LSD and i doubt it would have had one put in as an option mate..

Ripping a skid out wont always work, my stuffed diff did double lines on my driveway (cement) so i did a few checks as above and it wasnt, just the diff was stuffed lol.

search the words " the LSD thread" and select titles only. then on about page 2 you will c the thread. There are 10000000million lsd thread so just do a search and you will find what your looking for

i wasnt having a dig at you mate, just letting u no about the "search titles only" thing. becuase without that the search function is pretty much pointless when it gives u 100,000 results to look through.

if its an exec, berlina, s pac, it wont have an lsd stock and are fitted with either 2.93? or 3.08 diff ratio. like others have said jack both rears up, if both spin in the same direction then its an lsd, if i spins the other way or not at all, its a single pegger.

It will be stamped on the diff

There will be information like the ratio and the part number on the left hand lower side (drivers side) It will say LSD: Yes

1. check the sticker on the diff... if you cant find it
2. next time you change a tyre n the car is jacked up... spin one wheel by hand and if the other wheel on the other side spins the same way as the way your spinning the wheel.. you do! but if it spins the opposite way you don't.
3. go rip a skid... hahaha

righto, just had a look, the sticker doesnt say LSD anywhere, but it says ratio 3.08:1

You have a 3.08:1 ratio, non LSD diff lol
