hey all,
ive got a problem with my traction control the car is a 03 sv8 the problem is that sometimes when i start the car the traction turns itself off and the only way to get it back on is if you stop the car turn it off remove key and start again ive taken it back to holden dealer and assured me that the key reader needed replacing and doing that i would never see the problem again.but two weeks later it started doing it again any help woud be much appriciated
p.s i think the dealer is just guessing what the problem is whitch is a bit annoying because everytime the guess it costs me money!
anyone???????
does it do it every time you start the car?
nah not every time but probally once every 10 times
i you tried "re setting" the ecu. I believe it can be done by removing the neg battery lead for a few minutes or by removing the fuse.
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
are they the ones on the dash under the instrument cluster?? cos ive seen those dash mounted switches play up before in the monaro range.. could be worth swapping to see if it fixes your problem as they arent too expensive from memory
what do you mean under the instrument cluster my button is next to the shifter
and also holden said they reset and cleared all the faults last week when it was in
anyway its going to go back on wednesday
lets see how much it will cost this time
holden have said it might be the wiring or the throttle relaxer now i dont think they know what they are doing
It will be a dirty throttle body. I kid you not.
My VX S2 SS (auto) has this same fault & has had it since new. The dealers have told me repeatedly that it's a known fault, but they don't know how to fix it. My Ss is now well & truly out of warranty & it's started to **** me off somewhat. This was actually the reason I signed up here - to see if there is a known fix.
My car does it to but it only happens when you have the key on the acc for about 5min. when you turn the car on it displays trac off then 30 sec later it turns it self back on dont know why it is happenin this had done it since day dot. Another fault ive had if you have the key on acc for about 10 or so min it displays abs brake fault. Then 20sec later is displays srs airbag fault the only way i can fix it is turn the car off for 5 min and restart the car. does any one know what causes this?
Had the same problem.Mentioned it to Holden during recent service.Diagnostics said code 58,throttle relax battery.they tested car battery and found it to fail, so replaced battery and seemingly all ok.
