Default fitting vz ss foggies in a vy ss

hi all, newby here.purchased myself some non genuine crystalized foggies to suit vz ss thinking they would fit straight into my vy but dont.it appears like I would have to cut into my bar to make them fit also the mounting bracket holes dont seem to line up to the holes in the bar (only has 2 holes instead of 3).Has anyone done this conversion to their vy.Im thinking maybe I might have to run the vy bracketry to make fit but dont have the original lights.any help would be appreciated.

If your has the SS bar you should have to cut any of the bar ??

With the brackets im pretty sure there the same, for the VY/Z...

Because my mate bought the Genuine VZ ones from Holden and they fitted straight into his VY S, ive got after market ones in my VY and they fit perfect, just had to alter the brackets that came with them slightly...

If he bought genuine, why would he buy the VZ ones rather than the VY ones.

You shouldn't have to cut the bar unless the ones you have purchased are not even close to the real deal. Somethings occasionally need a bit of forcing. Just don't over do it.

its got me stumped, there is no way the ones i have fit,its mainly issues with the adjuster that gets in the way,ive looked at the back (inside) a vz s bar on one of the posts and the cutouts look much diff than vy,on the other hand I remember reading on a post that it was done by drilling an extra hole but where i dont know.the boxes the lights come in reads vz s-ss,unless somone put wrong lights in the box, very much doubt it though.

they are aftermarket copy of the original at half the cost, you cant get aftermarket replacement for vy,besides i think vz ones look nicer.

question... when you put the foglights in...
VYII S pack..... How abouts do you go setting up the wiring and switches, is it easy to hook up yourself? (havent checked the how to section)
or how much should u expect to pay someone to hook it all up 4 u.

Also I've seen those foglights on ebay, are they actually any good? Or better off buying from supercheap?

The non genuine ones on ebay will not fit without cutting parts of your bumper as i found this out the hard way. If you buy genuine lights they come with the loom out the back and i pretty sure all vy's had the relays in there. just a matter of having looking around under and behind your front bar for it. Should be clipped against body somewhere. You will just need to get the genuine light switch with the fog light option and replace yours with that. I would go genuine if was you. Cheers

    out the back??
So if i get my hands on genuine ones all i need to do is clip them into the wires that shouldnt be under the bonnet, change the switch and get a fog light relay?

Sweet im glad someone made this post, as i just got myself some genuine holden foggies last weekend.

Sorry im a n00b at this stuff. But when i install the foggies (dont worry im getting help from a mate) will that just hook straight up to the headlight switch? Or will i need to buy a new switch from holden so that i can turn the foggies on and off independantly?
